Firstly, I'd like to say rest in peace to the legendary College Basketball Hall of Famer Lou Carnesecca, who we lost yesterday at 99 years young. Carnesecca is best known for his time in Queens as the head coach of the St. John's University men's basketball team. Lou achieved 526 career wins in his career, leaving an indelible mark on the sport. Under his leadership, St. John's consistently competed at the highest level, including a Final Four appearance in 1985, solidifying his legacy as one of basketball's most respected and admired coaches. In 2004, St. Johns honored the legendary coach by renaming its basketball arena Carnesecca Arena.

Aside from being an iconic figure in basketball for his coaching, Carnesecca is known for his incredible sweater collection that rivals Mr. Rogers' cardigan collection.

For today's blog, I wanted to pay homage to Carnesecca by power-ranking his iconic sweaters and bringing attention to some of the most iconic coaching aesthetics we have seen in any sport. While trying to rank them, I came to the conclusion the sweaters are just too good to put a ranking on, so I attached the images so you can appreciate them without a number attached. Enjoy!

Nike, please bring back this basketball sweater!

Were talking about a collection of sweaters so iconic they framed one like a jersey when he retired!
