I'll start this return to blogging off by quoting the great Jim Calhoun. "I fucked up." When I started blogging here, I set a goal for myself, and I didn't stick to it. Hand up, thats on me! But I'm back today and excited to talk about 2025 goals moving forward with the brand this year because I'm incredibly excited about how things are progressing.
Goal Number 1: Be More Front-Facing about Bungalow
I touched on this a bit in the first blog I ever wrote, and I've started putting it into action lately, but it's not enough for my liking. I want to become more comfortable getting on camera and talking about my brand and what I'm trying to accomplish with it or just talking about it when people ask me about it.
For a while, my strategy was, "If only my friends knew I did this, I would be happy," and I realized this was kind of a silly way of thinking. In the digital landscape of the world today, people want to have a connection to not only the product but also the person behind the brand, and I intend to deliver that more this year!
Goal Number 2: More Physical Retail and Events
This one plays off the first goal to be more frontward-facing. This year, I intend to do more pop-ups and creator markets in my local area. Spoiler Alert: the first of these events will be on Saturday, February 22nd, at Vintage on Ninth in Belmar! (Flyer Attached Below)
Social media is jammed with people shoving products down your throat, and it's easy to get lost in the shuffle. I want people to walk up to me, chat about the brand and my vision, and touch the products in real life. Speaking of which! The brand will be stocked in 2 stores in the Jersey Shore area very soon, as well as a shop in Japan!
I would also love to curate a small selection of goods for a coffee shop in my area. A good coffee shop is an essential pillar of a strong community, and I would be grateful to have a few small items in a shop for people to interact with. If you know anyone with a coffee shop in the shore area, holler at me!
Goal Number 3: Just Have Fun!
Honestly, I have to stop letting this whole thing stress me out so much. I have a real job. This isn't sink or swim for me, and I realize it will be all good if I keep plugging away. This is a fun little project to keep my creative side flowing. If one day it allows me to stop working and pursue this full-time, that's awesome, but either way, I'm blessed to be able to create and put stuff out into the world in any capacity.
I also want to have fun with the products I am making. I realized recently that aside from the Locals Summer shirts, I've only put out one other graphic t-shirt through Bungalow, and it was just a simple logo t-shirt that, looking back on it, stinks. I would have gone in a completely different direction now that I have processed it all, but it's all good. We are course-correcting with some heavy hitters in the pipeline.
Thats all I have for you this week! I appreciate you all and am excited to roll out what we have coming this year.
Peace!
